The Hobbit 70th Anniversary Edition - Harper Collins hardback review
Hobbit, Third or 3rd, allen
The early United States editions of J. They are very collectible but extraordinarily difficult to identify. This article describes all known printings until the third edition, which appeared in Early editions of a book as popular and enduring as J. Tolkien's The Hobbit inevitably attract the attention and money of both book collectors and fans. Because a publisher cannot predict accurately how the public will receive a new author, they usually print a small first run and follow it with reprints as needed. Often this first run is called a "first edition".

A major part of my Tolkien book collection concentrates upon one single book, namely 'the Hobbit'. This is the book where it all started from for me and for Tolkien in a more worldly way. It is this book that has been published over and over again Really, there is a jungle out there of publications and it is truly hard to get trough it and get a clear picture Let us arrange and show all known editions of Hobbits in a row. I'll start here and show all books i have in my collection and will add all books with credits by all you if you manage to find others not covered here mail me please with pictures to info tolkienlibrary. I'm am still photgraphing and ordering most of my books in my collection so please be patient, but do not hesitate to contact me any way if you know other editions no mentioned here.
I have a hobbit book by J. R Tolkien and i didn't see it up there, its front cover is an orange dragon standing on green rocks on the bottom of the cover it says "The Hobbit 50th Anniversary" Also the pages have went yellowy around the edges of the pages so i think its older than a few years, any ideas how much this could sell for? Thanks for your time. Let's see I have a hobbit book not on this list. It is an ugly brown colour with a dragon and surrounded in gold.
