Paperback vs Hardcover: Differences between paperback & hardcover

Hi there - I have a book that is already available on Amazon as a Paperback, but not as a Hardcover. It continues to show Hardcover under binding in my product writeup when I go to edit. When I send it in and it goes live, will it show as a hardcover edition of the book? It will probably show up as paperback. Publisher switches to paperback on new printing to cut costs, but it still shows up as a hard cover. Do you know how I can fix it so that it shows up as a Hardcover?
