Tori Hollenbeck , Staff Writer May 11, For the readers who have been through the same or similar experiences, reading this helps show them that they are not alone and that their feelings are normal and valid. In this section of Milk and Honey , Rupi Kaur tells of her chilling experiences with sex ual assault and her very broken family dynamic, especially her relationship, or lack thereof, with her father. In this piece of the book, Kaur paints a beautiful picture of all different forms of love, including motherly love, infatuation, intimacy, the feeling of being loved by someone, as well as what she hopes to have in a lover. This part of the book gives the reader a good grasp on the way it feels to have your heart broken, either by way of a breakup, being used, having your emotions toyed with, experiencing unrequited love, having to let someone go, missing someone, not seeing what someone was or what their intentions were until it was too late, or not being appreciated. Overall, Milk and Honey is a fantastic book.
