Dan and phil book review
Dan Howell and Phil Lester, avoiders of human contact and direct sunlight, actually went outside. Traveling around the world on tour, they have collected hundreds of exclusive, intimate, and funny photos, as well as revealing and candid side notes, to show the behind-the-scenes story of their adventure. Dan and Phil wanted this tour to be about celebrating and immortalising everything from their Youtube channels and general online personalities , but also about connecting with their fans, and I feel they have really achieved this, especially with the two videos of the tour they have released, and now with this book. Dan and Phil are completely brilliant at immersing their audience, whether the audience is online or in a theatre — no barrier, screen or stage, keeps them from connecting with their audience, and this is a huge reason why their fan base has grown to be so large, and so prominent on the internet. As both Youtubers have very different and distinguishable personalities, reading the book it felt almost as if they were narrating it right in front of me. This was a truly engaging, entertaining book. View all posts by myshelfandmyself.
The Amazing Book Is Not on Fire Audiobook
Thank you! Howell, who goes by "danisnotonfire," and "AmazingPhil" Lester are the latest YouTube stars hoping to cross over to the world of books. Instead of crafting a memoir or adapting their videos into a fictional series, the duo have filled these pages with bold graphics, scatological humor, and quirky how tos that may entice their fan base but will leave everyone else out in the cold. It contains a wide variety of nonsense, ranging from Phil's chat logs to information on breeding hamsters. All this miscellany is shoveled in without much rhyme or reason following introductory pages that clearly introduce the pair as children, leaving readers who aren't in on the joke completely out of the loop. The authors make no attempt to bring in those on the outside, but in all honesty, why should they? The only people buying this book are kids who already love everything Dan and Phil do or clueless relatives in desperate search of a gift for the awkward teens in their lives.
These two YouTubers have achieved a lot more than the average Youtuber; Dan and Phil have taken over the radio with their own radio show, have hosted the Brit Awards almost every year now, have had sold—out tours, were a part of the movie Big Hero 6 and have now published a book. Released on 20 October , this book is killing the vlogger book charts. It has been at first position on various websites since before its release date so I can confidently say that this is a successful vlogger book. The reason behind this is perhaps their supportive fan-base, which allows them to publish one book between them. The book is narrated through their two different perspectives.
